Mount Mushmore with Grandma and Pa
Dixon and Jackson went on vacation this past weekend with Grandma and Pa to South Dakota...North Dakota...aren't they the same thing! Anyway, to a Dakota and they went to Mount Mushmore (according to Jackson), Crazy Horse Monument, Deadwood (which was Dixon's favorite), and did tons of fun stuff in exotic little locations. Dixon is asleep so I can't ask him where else or what else to add! They also visited a gargantuan cowboy store on the way home and they both made it out of there with new boots and the understanding that they would be saved for Jackson's birthday and Dixon's new school year. Dixon batted his gorgeous, long, black eyelashes and told his Pa that he really needed some new boots because his were all wore out but he just couldn't afford it! He really knows how to work the system! I will post some pictures as soon as I get them from my Mom.

This was a really fast but fun vacation. If you can stand the drive there (we were in luck because it was green and gorgeous the entire way) then all you have to do is pick a cute, quaint little hub town to stay in and venture out every day in a new direction. Everything you could possible want to see or do is within an hour's drive. I recommend Hill city, Deadwood, Keystone, and Spearfish.
I realize it's been along time since I was out that way but, still-!
Did you tell the boys that Grandpa LeFevre spent some time on top of Rushmore defending it from the Indians?
