Fathers Day Festivities

I hope everyone had a good father's day. After church, we all went up to my Aunt Shelley's house for dinner. My cousin Wes is on a mission to New Zealand (cool, huh...I wonder if he's met Frodo!) We all wrote letters to him and they took lots of pictures and video. After dinner, we went up to the park and played softball. We have some pretty good players in the family. It's been about 10 years since I've played but I can still hit...not being self-centered, just excited that I can still do it! It was really fun and we decided to do it every few weeks or so. The little boys had a great time and we discovered that Dixon really can hit. I was very proud of him. He took his turn at bat and then took his turn in the less fun outfield, too. Jackson found a stick, his new invention, which he used for a bat. That is so like Jackson. I guess I will have to get Dix in baseball and Jackson in some sort of nature club!

At the family reunion dixon was doing very well hitting the ball and throwing. He is so talented!

He loved it so much that I had to buy him a bat, balls, and a mit so that he could practice. He just kept thanking me over and over. I'm lucky to have such an appreciative son. He was so funny, though. We were playing catch and every time I threw him the ball, he would give me a play by play or explained what happened...EVERY TIME! I told him a little more catching and a lot less talking! It was fun.

Leslie, I'm glad that you found me. I hope you don't mind me linking to your blog. If you do, just let me know. That baby of yours is as cute as ever. Every little improvement and step is one more towards home. I'm thrilled for you.
