We're still here and it's snowing like the dickens outside. Today is Dixon's last day of school before the 2 week Christmas break so he's pretty excited about that. I got the last few things that I need for Christmas yesterday. I ended up taking one toy back to the store. I decided that they had enough. I really went for quality this year instead of quantity and I think the boys are going to be thrilled. I can't be certain what Santa will bring but we will know in 6 days! Anyway, onto the photos.
These are my neighbor gifts. I have gotten great deals on Wisp and Glade flameless candles so I've been saving them up. I love these things...they're great for a soft night light in Kasen's room and around the house. Anyway, I made up a tag with a few scriptures from the birth of the Savior and one about the "light of Christ" to tie it all together. I haven't delivered them yet but plan on doing it Monday.
Here is my Christmas tree. Up until yesterday it has been behind the couch to keep Kasen out of it. He has pretty much left all the gifts and ornaments alone. I guess he just loves my Mom's tree. She has icicle ornaments that he loves. I only put up about half of my ornaments this year. I was not in the mood. Plus, I was waiting to see if the tree would fall over. So far, so good. The tree fell over 3 times last year, once on Christmas Eve, and broke a bunch of my ornaments and ruined about 10 books that I had under the tree. That is what prompted the purchase of the fake tree...and I love it. It looks about as real as they come.
After the awards ceremony, they had games. Jackson was trying to be like the big kids and pop this balloon but was having a little difficulty!

Kasen is my wild child. He was done with lunch and not staying in his seat a minute longer than he had to.
Kasen likes to sneak behind the tree and hide.

Finally, the Baptism. I needed Vanessa because these 2 pictures are the only ones I took. I am kicking myself. Kasen was so ornery and then after the Baptism I was getting the dinner and just forgot to take more pictures. I really wanted a few of Dixon with his grandparents but I dropped the ball there.
Jackson did not want to have his picture taken but he relented.

Okay, so you are caught up. We are all doing great. Kasen is getting his giant, hurty big bottom teeth now. He is getting them one at a time so the process is prolonged more than I would like. You can tell that it hurts and he has big hamburger gum meat all the time and his mouth bleeds. I will be glad when he has them all and can learn to be happy again!
Jackson is still busy planning his rodeo. We will let you know when it is going to be. There will be traditional events like team roping, steer wrestling, and muttin bustin. There will also be non-traditional events like colt starting, mustang riding, boat building, bow shooting, and carnival rides. I am in charge of the bunny exhibit, apparently! Jackson has this all planned out in his mind and just needs to pick a stock contractor and round up the bunnies! I really hope Kindergarten doesn't ruin his imagination!
Dixon is busy writing letters to Santa, writing stories about wayward dogs, and reading more books than a 2nd grader should. He took a few gifts for his friends at school today and one for his teacher, and is looking forward the the break and staying up as long as he wants. He is loving scouts and is always looking for opportunities to pass things off. If it was possible, he would be an Eagle scout at age 9! I took him to breakfast the other morning and we had a good chat about school and life! He is very insightful for an 8 year old.
I hope you all are enjoying the Christmas preparations and taking some time to really enjoy it. Merry Christmas. Love you all,
Shaylyn
Dixon got bis Bobcat award at scouts last night. He has only been in scouts for about 5 weeks but is pretty on the ball.

WOW! You guys have been busy! I wish I could have been there too, what a special day! The pics are great! I want to know why your mom had her tree baracaded and yours looks amazing, by the way, and wide open haha! I hope you guys have a Merry Christmas and I love hearing about your cute boys!
I don't know why but he WILL NOT leave hers alone. She has these pretty, red icicle things that he can't stay away from. He's allready broken one. Maybe my tree is more plain or maybe he's been told "NO" enough at my Mom's that he's gotten the picture. Who can read the head of a 15 month old...definately not me! Merry Christmas. Your photos of Bell as a who are awesome. She should dress like that every day...eyelashes and all!
It is so fun to read your posts! I love your neighbor gifts...why don't I think of things like that!!! Your kids are so cute! You have become a dear friend and I love keeping up on you and yours. May you have faith, hope and love this season.
Love,
LEslie
